Cable assembly specialist CiS electronic GmbH joins the Space2Motion network.

CiS electronic GmbH, a provider of cable assemblies, system technology and mechatronics, based in Krefeld with production sites in Czech Republic and Romania, addresses the future within the scope of their corporate strategy iSpeed 2024 and has been intensively involved in various networks for several years. Trends such as digitalisation, automation, de-materialisation and autonomisation have been familiar terms for CiS for a long time now.

Industrie 4.0 presents new challenges – and new risks and opportunities – for almost every industry. The German automotive industry and aerospace industry are globally renowned for innovations and technological progress, both sectors develop the strategic key technologies of the future and in parallel carry out research into these same subjects. There is an enormous synergy potential here through the transfer of technologies.  

In order to make aerospace 'know-how' available to other industry sectors too, the aerospace management of the German aerospace centre (DLR) 2014 started the INNOspace® initiative. It is a constituent part of the national program for space and innovation from the federal ministry of economics and technology and part of the new high-tech strategy of the federal government.

CiS has been a member of the Space2Motion and Space2Agriculture networks since 2019, where subjects such as autonomous driving and new mobility concepts, digitalisation, networking & communication, manufacturing and robotics, as well as drive technology, e-mobility and energy efficiency are tackled.

With over 40 years of experience in connection technology, CiS wish to provide their contribution to an innovative value-adding chain and the exchange of knowledge for cross-industry synergies.

At the annual meeting of the Space2Motion network on the 12th of November 2019, CiS were able to present technologies from industry that offer added value for aerospace and that were subsequently the subject of lively discussion in working groups.
