CiS ELECTRONIC GmbH was the first company in Germany to be awarded a certificate for its effective climate protection at the “Senate of Economy” annual convention. Dr. Christoph Brüßel, Chairman of the “World Forest Climate Initiative” of the “Senate of Economy”, presented the first certificate of the WFF (World Forest Foundation) to Mr. Peter M. Wöllner, owner of the CiS Group, in the circle of the senators. CiS supports the “World Forest Climate Initiative” of the “Senate of Economy” and thus helps to practically implement worldwide reforestation according to the highest ecological and social standards.

As a first step towards the complete climate neutrality of the entire CiS Group, the CO2 emissions of all German locations of CiS ELECTRONIC GmbH were already made CO2-neutral in the fall of 2012 through a reforestation project in Panama. The reforestation project supported by CiS is validated by independent authorized third parties in accordance with the “Carbon Fix Standard” (CFS) and the “Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard” (CCBS). This initiative contributes to solving climate problems in the long term and ensuring general prosperity with concrete reforestation projects based on the principle of “close to nature, forest, restoration”. It is an investment in an economically and ecologically sustainable project that creates jobs worldwide. In addition to offsetting CO2 emissions, the company is also working intensively on an energy reduction strategy that will be implemented throughout the CiS Group over the next few years. “I am delighted to receive this prestigious award, which has been presented for the first time in Germany,” explains Managing Director Peter M. “We can only secure our prosperity and high standard of living in Europe through globally sustainable climate protection and a functioning, eco-social market economy. The UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw has once again shown that international politics is struggling to achieve the climate targets that have been set.
