A Workplace Conditions Assessment (WCA) audit conducted at the production plant in the Czech Republic in May confirmed that the workplaces and working conditions—including occupational safety, wages and working hours, health and safety, management systems, and environmental management—meet the highest standards and significantly exceed global, national, and industry averages.

In 2023, the second generation of the Wöllner family assumed greater responsibility by taking on key leadership roles within the company. The company was also successfully certified according to VG 96927 for pre-assembled cables and wires.

In 2022, CiS systems s.r.o. celebrated its 25th anniversary. Additionally, Zabel Technik GmbH & Co. KG was integrated into the CiS Group, expanding the product portfolio to include HMI solutions.

In 2021, CiS received the "Power Supplier Award" from Weinmann Emergency GmbH for its exceptional support and supply during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, CiS electronic GmbH was recognized by the Senate of Economy for its sustainable climate protection efforts and awarded the title of Climate Sponsor. CiS also ensured the supply of medical technology during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2018, we began a partnership with Opportunity International to promote education for young people in Africa, specifically in Ghana. CiS is actively committed to fighting poverty and creating sustainable opportunities.

CiS systems s.r.o. celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017.

The company celebrated its 40th anniversary and expanded its production facilities in the Czech Republic. In addition, environmental certification according to DIN ISO 14001 was successfully achieved.

CiS electronic GmbH joined the UN Global Compact in 2014.

In 2013, CiS systems s.r.o. introduced its first European Energy Manager.

In 2012, CiS joined the World Forest Climate Initiative of the “Senate of Economy” as a supporting member. In the same year, the company received awards from THALES and SIEMENS as one of the top suppliers and was audited as one of the best employers worldwide. CiS became the first CO2-neutral cable assembly company in Germany.

In 2011, the first “masters” in the Czech Republic received their diplomas. In the same year, CiS founded Newcab in Paderborn and developed the CiS-iSpeed strategy, which analyzes global megatrends with foresight to make strategic decisions in a timely manner.

In 2010, CiS relocated parts of its production and most of its warehouse from Ludvikov to Hejnice.

In 2009, CiS established the first master craftsman school in the Czech Republic in cooperation with a German company. The “1st Jizera Mountains Master Craftsman School” is supported by the Czech-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DTIHK) and the Technical University of Liberec. CiS also acquired the “Eduard Simon” industrial complex in Hejnice. The strategic decision to invest counter-cyclically during the economic crisis led to the successful growth of the group of companies.

In 2007, CiS systems s.r.o. celebrated its 10th anniversary with over 500 employees. After two years of intensive development work, CiS also introduced the CiS Production System (CPS), based on the principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS).

In 2005, CiS relocated its entire warehouse from Krefeld to the Czech Republic. With the Czech Republic's accession to the EU, daily delivery from Germany was possible without customs formalities. The year also marked the 30th anniversary of the CiS Group and the introduction of modern ERP software at all locations.

In 2004, another new production building was constructed in Ludvikov (Rheinlandhalle) and put into operation. CiS also took over the connector production operations of a renowned connector manufacturer.

In 2003, CiS relocated its entire production from Krefeld to the Czech Republic.

In 2002, EN ISO 9001:2000 was implemented throughout the CiS Group.

In 2001, the technical calculation, work preparation, and prototyping departments were established in Nové Město.

In 2000, the CiS Group celebrated its 25th anniversary. In addition, the entire group was certified according to EN ISO 9002:1994, and another production property was acquired in Nové Město (Villa Klinger).

In 1999, a new warehouse and production hall were built in Ludvikov, and CiS SYSTEMS s.r.o. was connected to the central computer in Krefeld. The production capacities in Ludvikov were expanded.

In 1998, CiS SYSTEMS s.r.o. acquired the previously rented property in Ludvikov, including administrative and technical buildings, as well as production and storage halls.

Another important step was taken in 1997 with the foundation of CiS SYSTEMS s.r.o. in Nové Město, Czech Republic, as a wholly owned subsidiary of CiS ELECTRONIC GmbH. In addition to producing cable accessories, CiS SYSTEMS s.r.o. also acts as a distributor in the regional market.

In 1996, CiS invested in state-of-the-art IT systems and optimized its process organization. All branch offices were connected to the central computer, and the sales organization was strengthened with new sales representatives. Preparations for EN ISO 9002:1994 certification were well underway.

In 1995, CiS ELECTRONIC GmbH, which specialized in connection technology, cable assembly, and system technology, became an independent company and relocated its headquarters to Krefeld. This was followed by the introduction of a quality management (QM) system in accordance with EN ISO 9002:1994.

In 1992, CiS relocated semi-automatic and fully automatic machines for automated cable assembly, as well as injection moulding machines for overmoulding cables, to the Czech Republic.

In 1991, another production plant was established in the Czech Republic, initially focusing on hand-soldering technology for large series. CiS also took over the cable assembly operations of another international connector manufacturer and integrated their IT system to enable direct delivery to end customers.

In 1990, CiS took over the "Accessories Service" division of an internationally renowned connector manufacturer and began supplying end customers directly. The logistics of ordering, delivery, and order processing were organised online between the two networks. A production facility was also established in the Czech Republic.

As early as 1987, CiS set the highest standards in quality assurance and received UL certification for cable accessories.

In 1983, CiS Electronic GmbH and other sister companies were founded as independent subsidiaries of CiS GmbH & Co. KG. CiS Electronic specialized in connection technology and established itself as a reliable supplier and partner to industry. CiS also took over the cable assembly operations of a leading connector manufacturer.

CiS continued to expand in 1980 and opened sales offices in Stuttgart and Munich. In addition, the product range was expanded, and additional distribution agreements were concluded with major connector manufacturers.

In 1975, CiS COMPONENTS INSTRUMENTS SYSTEMS GmbH & Co. KG was founded. The company started as a sales organization for in-house manufactured products and agency products. Over time, CiS expanded its product and service portfolio considerably. Milestones included the establishment of a cable assembly facility for a renowned international connector manufacturer and the signing of distribution agreements with leading companies in the industry, including our partner 3M.
