CiS is committed to the environment and receives an important CO₂OL certificate

CiS Group, headquartered in Krefeld and with production sites in the Czech Republic and Romania, receives a CO2OL certificate to confirm its effective commitment.

A commitment to the environment and climate has been close to CiS's heart for years and is part of the iSpeed 2025 corporate strategy. “We can only secure our prosperity and high standard of living through sustainable global climate protection and a functioning, eco-social market economy. The UN climate conferences have shown that international politics is struggling to achieve the climate targets that have been set. It is therefore necessary to take action ourselves and invest in global climate protection now. Companies must become aware of their responsibility and take action,” explains CEO Peter M. Wöllner.

“We are continuing our commitment to climate protection and are supporting the CO2OL Tropical Mix Reforestation project in Panama. The certificate issued for the German site in Krefeld certifies that greenhouse gas emissions are offset. The project combines sustainable timber extraction and cocoa cultivation with the protection of biodiversity and the restoration of the forest ecosystem. This reforestation measure is validated by independent, authorized third parties in accordance with the Gold Standard.

Another award is for the CiS systems s.r.o. site in the Czech Republic. The certificate certifies that the greenhouse gas emissions are offset by the high-quality climate protection project “Sumatra Merang Peatland Project”, Indonesia. The project combines the protection and rewetting of peatland forests with selective “Asissted Natural Regeneration” to preserve biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions. This project is validated according to the “Verified Carbon Standard” by independent authorized third parties.

The CiS Group has also been supporting the World Forest Climate Initiative of the “Senate of Economy” (www.weltwaldklima.de) for many years and has made all German sites CO2-neutral since 2012. “This is a further contribution to our environmental commitment and another step towards making the entire company CO2 neutral. Of course, reducing energy consumption has the highest priority,” explains Wöllner.CiS electronic GmbH, D-Krefeld
