Corporate Social Responsibility

The CiS Group is committed to acting sustainably and responsibly. With projects such as our support for Plan International, we promote the education of children in developing countries and are committed to providing medical care for blind children and adults through partnerships with organisations such as Andheri Aid. Locally, CiS supports schools, kindergartens and cultural initiatives, thereby contributing to the development of the communities in which we operate.

Since 2016, the CiS Group has been involved in the newly founded aid organisation ‘Economy for People’ of the Senate of Economy. The aid project ‘El Arranque’ in Buenos Aires, initiated by Pope Francis, aims to give young people better prospects for the future and Christian values. In the Czech Republic, we facilitated the Czech-German friendship seminar ‘Strength from Roots’ for many years, which took place in the Villa Klinger provided by CiS managing directors Doris and Peter M. Wöllner. In addition, we have been supporting the promotion of the German language in Czech schools in the Liberec region in cooperation with the Goethe Institute for many years, as Germany is the largest and most important economic partner for the Czech Republic. In order to expand and consolidate the knowledge of our CiS employees, we offer the CiS Academy e-learning platform for individual training courses.

Our actions are characterised by clarity and values. The CiS Group's Code of Ethics and Conduct offers our employees and partners guidance and security. Integrity, honesty and fairness are the pillars of our corporate culture. We are committed to a non-discriminatory and healthy working environment and promote harmony and dialogue between employees from different locations and nationalities.

As a member of the UN Global Compact since May 2014, CiS is committed to actively supporting the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption and integrating them into our corporate strategy. Our progress reports are transparent and can be viewed on the UN Global Compact website, which emphasises our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices. We will report on our progress again this year.

The CiS Group firmly combines sustainable business practices with the goal of a healthy climate. We are the first cable assembly company to operate in a climate-neutral manner, which means that the CO₂ emissions of all German sites are offset by a certified reforestation project of the ‘World Forest Climate Initiative’ of the Senate of the Economy. This is part of our commitment to taking responsibility for the future.
